Dyslexia is a common language-based learning difference that affects how individuals process written language. People with dyslexia may have difficulty with reading, spelling, writing, and decoding words, even though they often have average or above-average intelligence.
Dyslexia is not related to vision, motivation, or effort. With early identification and evidence-based intervention, students with dyslexia can develop strong literacy skills and become successful, confident learners.

TLC provides personalized, multisensory intervention using evidence-based language programs designed to help students strengthen reading, spelling, writing, and comprehension skills. Our specially trained interventionists work one-on-one or in small groups to identify each student's unique needs and build the foundational language skills necessary for academic success.
By making expert dyslexia intervention affordable and accessible, TLC helps students gain confidence, improve literacy outcomes, and develop the tools they need to thrive in school and beyond.

No. While a formal diagnosis can be helpful, many students benefit from intervention based on their learning needs and reading challenges.

Families interested in services begin by completing the new student intake form and providing any relevant educational or evaluation records. Once the information is reviewed, TLC will contact the family to discuss the student's needs, answer questions, and determine the most appropriate intervention plan.
Because every child learns differently, recommendations are tailored to the student's individual strengths, challenges, and goals. If space is available, students are matched with a qualified interventionist and scheduled for services. In some cases, families may be placed on a waitlist until an opening becomes available.

As a nonprofit organization, TLC works to make services accessible to all families. TLC is an approved Step Up For Students scholarship provider, and additional financial assistance may be available based on need. Contact us to learn more about scholarship and financial assistance options.

Yes. The Literacy Center for Dyslexia (TLC) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
TLC is happy to provide a donation receipt for your records. Every contribution helps make evidence-based dyslexia intervention more accessible and affordable for children and families in our community. We encourage donors to consult their tax advisor regarding the deductibility of charitable contributions.

We would love for you to volunteer with TLC!
Volunteers support TLC through events, fundraising initiatives, community outreach, administrative assistance, and special projects. Opportunities vary throughout the year based on organizational needs.
